This was an extended Trial Traveling from Basel to Seiser Alm, Mantova, Valvasone, Gemona, ArnoldStein,Altötting, Erding, Bad Waldsee Starting in Basel we left unplanned for the south as the local weather forecast was maily rain.

    Austria

Driving along the Swiss border to Austria. Getting the infamous Mautbox, this did take almost 1 hour. Filling with cheap gas was a positive and added another 45 minutes. Night Stop in Bludenz on an Farm/Camground. Day2 drive past Insbruck over the Brenner to Sterzing just after the Brenner in Italy. Simple overnight Campgroud. Nice walk to the town / supermarket

    Trentino

Day3 Seiser Alm Nice location, the campground was not ours too crowded and busy Day 6 Roncegno Terme another farm /restaurant camp site it was great. Challenge in Italy finding a supermarket where we can access easily.

    Mantua

Day7 Mantua, relatively long day driving. Finding dump stations in Italy is not the easiest. Finaly found one in Mantua,it is however at the edge of the no-emission zone so tricky to get there. Great supermaket with a lot of Space. Stayed on a private ground for 4 day’s. Easy to walk to local shops, 20 minutes bike ride to the center of Mantua, Nice cycling routes around and just great weather dry, sunny and around 27C

    Distillery and Wineyard

Day 12 drive to the Fratelli Brunell distilery, free parking and distilery tasting tour. Christmas Gifts for the familly bought, and rainy day Day 13 Sfriso Wine in Chiarano small wineyard with places for campers. We had a great wine tasting and discussions around the table with guests and Pier, definitely recommed this https://sfrisowineworld.com

    Old Town visits and relax

Day 14 Valvasonne we missed the Medival festival by a few days, small town easy to walk around and great parking station Day 16 Gemoa town on the hill side so it is up and down. The camground was nice but a bit tricky to get to. Full service.

    Austria Arnoldstein

Day 19 Leaving Italy for Austria. Stayed at the overnight camground in Austria, relatively expensive compared to italy very admnistrative with registration and all. Supermarket was close by. Nice walking around. A few nice RV around and completely filled at nigt. The GPS did’t like the local restriccitions and tried to send us throuhg strange ways

    German towns

Day 20 Rainy wake up in Austria, looking for a cheap diesel station that we would fit. Found one. Not all that easy to find and very tight manoevers it all worked 45 minutes to fill up and then a long drive all the height of Austria in terrible rain. We wanted to camp in Bad Reichenhall both spots hopelessly full. After some search we found a free site in Laufen. On the main road but surprisingly quiet, just behind a few steps down to a stream and a 10 minutes walk into town. Day 21 A short Drive to Altötting, free area at the bus Station, reasonably quiet. Distance fine to supermarket and old town. Day 23 Erding we stoped at the Therme Erding. Stop are is nice on the pricey side there is a free spot not far away but we wanted to use the dump station so this was perfect. Day 25 Driving to Landsber am Lech with a stop at the Engelbert store and supermarket run. Landsberg the parking was fine. Totally filled with campers a few nice people. Day 29 Bad Waldsee this is our go to place to prepare the truck for the winter storage. It was surprisingly full nice people. 3 Amazing day with great weather. Only on the last day it rained so no exterior cleaning. Day 28 final day Truck was put in winter storage until 2026
